.....where you're mind is bursting with ideas for stories, yet you have no idea where to begin? Yeah, I have that problem, but it's getting worse. With The Ultimate Evil so near completion, I've been wanting something new to write, however, I don't know where to start. Ideas are swirling around and around in my head. I have a notebook filled with little scraps and pieces of abandoned tales and new ideas and I have a folder almost bursting with characters. *SIGH*
So, what I want to know is, have you ever had this problem? Are you going through it right now? Or is this something that you completely do not understand and want to run from this blog as fast as you can? :-)

ok so there are probably a million questions I would be much more able to answer than this one since I'm not a writer but I'll give it a try anyways lol :P , I think you should go with the story you were talking about yesterday I think it would turn out quite interesting and as for where to start ... since its going to be somewhat based on real life from my understanding that shouldn't be much of an issue you could start by introducing the characters with maybe a short overview of their background and past and such.
But yeah once again I'm much more of just a thinking philosophical person than a writer of any sort my opinions not that important because I suppose I look more into the message and insight behind the story than the actual writing , but then again a writer needs to have some sort of message behind their work .. idk I'll shut up now , hopefully I might have helped a tiny bit or served some other purpose with my over length comment :P , good luck with starting the story :) .
I can completely relate. My favorite part of the writing process is the part where you get to intertwine characters and weave a plot full of snarls - the rest of the process is too much like work.
My advice to you is to keep track of them, but refuse to let yourself develop anything until you've dutifully worked through your WIP.
Then you can have your creative dessert.
Yeah, I actually started a new story today, but it has no title whatsoever and it's SO hard for me to write without a title, but I'll think of one!

I totally understand where you're coming from, Madison. My ADHD brain makes it REALLY hard at times to stay focused on one project, which is why revisions are so painful for me. Sometimes, though, it's good to put aside your WIP and work on something new. It's a great way to handle writer's block and keep you from burning out on your project. Also, if you have an idea you just can't get out of your head but you know you can't work on now, at least create an outline or something else in the "prep work" of writing that will jog your memory when you do have time to get to it later.
As for me, I have my two WIPs I'm revising, a novel I'm writing in snatches, and all the prep work done on a new novel for NaNoWriMo. Oh, and all the shorts I've been doing -- mostly for "writing exercises". Yes, I like working on multiple projects. =)
