Writing Again...

...just not in the way that you think ;)

Ok, so what the heck do I mean by that? Well, I'll tell you.

First off, I'm gonna share a little secret... I've never had a boyfriend. I've gone on a few dates and liked one guy, but beyond that, nothing. You kinda need to know this to fully understand what I'm doing, cause I think it's a beautiful idea for those who are still looking for their special someone.

I read this great book not too long ago called When God Writes Your Love Story by Eric and Leslie Ludy. There was something they suggested doing that I thought was so sweet I started doing it. They suggested writing letters to your special someone, even if you don't know them. It's a great way to keep in mind that there's only one perfect man or woman out there for every guy and girl. Many girls I know get lost thinking that they have to have a lot of guys like them. Personally, I'd much rather that guy be Mr. Right. :)

I've started putting these letters and notes in a box. Everything is sealed and will only be opened by my husband, because, whoever he is, these notes are for his eyes only. It's kinda cool to write these letters to him, knowing I love him, even though we haven't met yet.

This is something I recommend doing...even if you're married. After all, just because you're married doesn't mean it's not still nice to receive or write a love letter or encouraging note or inspirational thought. Words are very powerful tools...we as writers know this. But to use these words that we love to wield into stories in ways that make our special someone feel loved and honored is one of the greatest gifts we can give. Roses wilt, candies get eaten, cozy moments on the couch end cause ya gotta pee sometime, but those words, especially when they are written down, will be there forever. They are something your special someone can read over and over and know how much they are loved and appreciated.

Anyway, I think it's a really beautiful idea that more people should practice. I am definitely having fun doing this and I think if you start, you will too :)

This is amazing, Madison. I like this idea a lot, and I think you're future husband is going to be a very lucky man.

So I just scrolled down to the bottom of my blog list and saw that you haven't updated in five months. Hope everything's going well for you, and I hope you're still writing. (And I hope you see this comment sometime soon)

Ray Veen, yeah, I haven't been on here in a while! OMG, it's kinda shocking how long it's been. Everything's been great, just school and work are completely full time, so there's not much time for writing now, lol (not that I've given up on it, mind you hehe)

Thanks, Chelsae! Hope everything continues to go well in your relationship :)

With e-mail, text etc I am sure love letters have gone out of the window for most people. I had a 3 month relationship where we sent letters. Not sure if you would class them as love letters or not. A lot of it was sharing our news, or geting to know each-other or somehow giving reassurance.

Often send e-mail to hubby when he is in work. But it's really anything urgent that cannot wait, rather than something romantic.

It's a lovely idea. I'm married but, I shall write about my children and give it to them as one of their birthday presents later on when they are able to read.
